Most of the remote controls that come with cable TV service are universal remote controls. This means that in addition to controlling your cable box, you can also program your cable TV remote to control your television set and other audio and video devices. The quickest way to set up your remote to work with your TV is to enter the TV manufacture code for the brand of television you are programming the remote to link to. However, you do not necessarily have to have this code to program your remote; the process just takes longer when you don't.

How To Program Comcast Remote Setup

Right now I have Comcsat with 1 TV, using their provided X1 Box. I am paying $10 DVR fee and $10 HD quality fee. It has a guide and dvr and records and everything is fine and dandy.

I want to add a second TV, just to purely watch TV, the channels I have. I don't need on demand, dvr, or any other features. I'm not sure what is the best option here. What exactly am I looking to purchase / rent? I've seen all these terms being thrown around and I'm not sure which is best.

Digital Transport Adapter (DTA) or just Digital Adapter

I called Comcast and the representative was telling me about something for $3.99 that would get all my channels. I looked this up, and it sounds like what the representative was talking about. However, I think it only goes up to a certain number of channels. Would I get HD Channels? I want to watch my local sports channel on the second TV. Would I get those?

CableCard and Set-Top Box

So I know I cant get an additional cablecard for like, $1.50 a month, but does this have an additional fee, specifically the Additional Outlet Fee - $9.95? If I do get a cable card, wouldn't I have to purchase a set top box as well?

Basically, what's the cheapest way for me to add an extra TV?
